Writing
I Can't Unsee It
My manuscript feels like a revelation to me. I had so much time to focus on this topic, and I feel the message should be out there. A lot of people think about this and share it, but everyone is still only touching parts of it. The book is the convergence of all the slices I see at conferences.
The mistake I made is stated clearly in the book’s first pages: I wrote this book with the help of Claude. I am not hiding it, but it adds to the uncertainty.
I tried to rewrite parts of the intro, fresh and clean, and IMHO it was not better. It was less structured, although I had thought about the structure beforehand, and it was less consistent. I could accept that, but it also had more AI tics than my current version, even though I wrote it without AI.
The more I read books and literature to get better at writing, the more I see the pattern. But I also use the patterns even more automatically. I had no writing style before, so the one I have now is shaped by the things I try to avoid.
The tool that helped me move fast has influenced me in a way that I can no longer unsee. Still, it is part of my style, and I have to accept that.
Maybe it is time to read my own book from start to finish again and use the red pen one more time. But will I ever be fully satisfied, or can I only be satisfied with external input?
