Writing
Accept the Fate
I have to say this: “I used AI to write a book.”
Is it the best way to write a book? No, most likely not. Can you write a book fast? Depends on your goal. Can you convey a complex message? For sure.
Let’s answer those questions in more detail. Although it is not the best way to write a book, it is a way. The important part is to see it as a tool and not as your ghostwriter. The amount of text and versions generated is massive. You feel like you are flying through chapters, and even the depth and shallowness of usual AI texts is not visible if you feed it with your ideas. But if you are not careful, the book turns into a repetitive, patterned mess. Boring to read, pressing each button of engagement all the time. Following the same structure, over and over again. Simply painful to read. But if you are careful, you tinker it to your needs. Carefully selecting the wording and compressing heavily. You can create a concise book, with a storyline, which reads like a progression.
It helped me to structure it well. It helped me to follow a progression. It helped me to discover sources for my own ideas.
Overall it is a tool, a powerful one, which can help you be creative and grow. But I also was in the pit, where I wanted to move fast and put too much trust into the generated outcome.
For me, accepting it like this now feels like remediation. I suddenly see the book differently. It is a medium to share my ideas. I hope the ideas are clear and easy to see. I hope the core message is perceived, and I hope it helps people find terminology to discuss those topics.
A lot of hopes, but that’s all I could hope for :)
